Ekaterina Willewald

Since making her concert debut in Moscow as a featured soloist with the Moscow State Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue“, Ekaterina Willewald has been invited to play on both sides of the Atlantic.

Ms. Willewald is a top prize winner in several international piano competitions, including The “Nikolai Rubinstein“ International Piano Competition held in Paris, The “Antonin Dvorak“ International Piano Competition in Prague and The International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Huesca“ in Spain.

Ekaterina has participated in several prestigious events such as the “Alexander Scriabin“ Festival Broadcast in Moscow, the International Piano Festival “Meranofest“ in Italy, the “Liszt Series“ at The Yamaha Artist Piano Salon in New York City, and others.

In September 2001, she participated in the “Solidarity Flower Carpet“ in Frankfurt am Main, dedicated to the memory of victims of terrorist attack on September 11th 2001 in New York City.

Ms. Willewald is a founder, lecturer, and performer in piano concert series at Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main. From 2000 to 2005 she presented many concerts featuring great Russian and European composers and their masterworks, covering an immense part of the piano repertoire.

Ekaterina began her piano studies at the age of four with her mother, a renowned piano teacher in Moscow. She has completed master's degree at the Gnessins Academy of Music in Moscow and at the Hochschule fur Musik in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, as well as a professional studies degree under Marc Silverman at Manhattan School of Music, New York.

Her most recent performances included several concerts for the charity organization “Isartaler Tisch“ in Munich, where significant funds were collected to provide food for the poor.
